JioHotstar has collaborated with OpenAI to introduce a Conversational Voice Discovery (CVD) feature on its platform, transforming the way users explore content. Powered by ChatGPT, the system shifts from traditional keyword searches to a more natural, conversational experience driven by user intent.
With CVD, viewers can type or speak queries based on mood, context, or preferences and receive tailored recommendations. Instead of searching by specific titles or genres, users can simply express what they want to watch, and the AI interprets their intent to deliver relevant suggestions.
The feature supports both Hindi and English, allowing seamless language switching while ensuring consistent recommendation quality across audiences. It also extends to live sports, enabling users to ask real-time match-related questions and get instant responses without interrupting their viewing experience.
Additionally, the integration works both ways—JioHotstar users benefit from ChatGPT-powered discovery within the app, while ChatGPT users can also access relevant JioHotstar content recommendations and links. This marks a significant step toward making content discovery more intuitive, personalized, and AI-driven.
