BookMyShow, in partnership with Election Commission of India, has launched a new campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections to encourage citizens, especially young voters, to actively participate in the democratic process. Titled Aaj Picture Nahi, Bigger Picture Dekho, the campaign highlights the importance of voting and urges people to prioritise nation-building by exercising their right on Election Day.

Designed to connect strongly with younger audiences, the campaign uses storytelling and a surprising narrative twist to deliver its message. Created in collaboration with Spacebar Advertising, the ad film follows the everyday lives of three young individuals. What begins as a casual conversation appears to revolve around movies, only to reveal at the end that the discussion is actually about the Lok Sabha Elections—cleverly reinforcing the campaign’s central message: to look beyond entertainment and focus on the country’s future.

By leveraging cinema—a passion point deeply embedded in Indian youth culture—BookMyShow has effectively woven responsible citizenship into its brand narrative. The campaign aims to influence Gen Z and first-time voters through relatable, snackable content delivered in a friendly yet impactful tone.

Speaking about the initiative, Dolly Davda, Head of Marketing at BookMyShow, said the campaign seeks to inspire young Indians to recognise the power of their vote and contribute towards shaping a brighter future.

Echoing this sentiment, Santosh Ajmera from the Election Commission highlighted the importance of collaborations like these in strengthening voter awareness and motivating first-time voters to participate actively in the electoral process.

The campaign is being rolled out through an omnichannel strategy, including digital platforms, mobile marketing, campus outreach, in-cinema promotions, and other touchpoints, ensuring it reaches millions across the country.

As India prepares for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, BookMyShow’s campaign serves as a timely reminder that every vote counts—and that building the nation’s future begins with informed civic participation.
