Story TV, the microdrama platform owned by Eloelo Group, has announced an ambitious expansion of its regional content strategy with plans to launch more than 1,000 original microdramas across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam by March 2027.

The move represents the platform's biggest investment in South Indian storytelling to date and reflects the growing demand for mobile-first, regional-language entertainment. According to the company, cities such as Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kochi have emerged as its strongest consumption markets, with users in the region spending an average of 95 minutes per day on the platform.

The upcoming content slate will span multiple genres, including romance, family drama, thrillers, comedy, revenge, and emotional narratives. Each series is being developed with a localized approach, ensuring stories resonate with the language, culture, and preferences of audiences in each market.

Story TV is also strengthening its regional creator ecosystem by collaborating with established filmmakers, cinematographers, writers, and actors from the South Indian film industry. The company believes investing in local talent will play a crucial role in elevating the quality of premium vertical storytelling while creating opportunities for emerging creators.

The platform revealed that its existing South Indian titles have already generated over 250 million views, highlighting the rapid rise of professionally produced microdramas in India. Unlike traditional short-video platforms driven by user-generated content, Story TV focuses on scripted, episodic stories designed specifically for vertical mobile viewing, catering to changing consumer habits.

With this large-scale expansion, Story TV aims to establish South India as the foundation of its broader regional growth strategy. The company sees regional-language originals as a key driver of the next phase of digital entertainment, as audiences increasingly seek immersive, culturally relevant stories that can be consumed anytime on their smartphones.
