Flipkart has unveiled a bold new GOAT Sale campaign just as Amazon prepares for the 10th edition of Prime Day in India. Created by Leo Burnett, the campaign uses humour and satire to position Flipkart as an alternative destination for shoppers looking for the best deals.
The ad follows a shopper and an actual goat travelling through a mysterious "tribe" before reaching the towering GOAT Tower, where exclusive offers appear out of reach. The twist? The shopper can unlock the deals simply by leaving the "Amazon Tribe."
Taking the campaign a step further, Flipkart has launched a microsite, AmazinFlip.com, encouraging users to upload screenshots confirming they have cancelled their Prime membership to access GOAT Sale offers.
The timing coincides with Amazon's Prime Day, scheduled from July 4 to 6, which is being promoted through a creator and celebrity-led campaign featuring Rajiv Makhni, Parul Gulati and Hitesh Bhatia.
With the latest campaign, Flipkart builds on the identity of its GOAT Sale while adding another memorable chapter to the long-standing tradition of playful brand rivalries. Using clever wordplay around "Prime" and "Tribe," the campaign sets the stage for an entertaining battle between India's e-commerce giants ahead of the shopping season.
