Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has introduced a new studio logo and opening sequence, launched at the Annecy International Film Festival as a part of its 2026-2028 theatrical slate presentation
The new logo replaces the studio's old glossy shield with a design inspired by classic hand painted animation. Tweety Pie now flies next to the shield, while the "Animation" wordmark has been moved below it in a simple handwritten style font.
The new opening sequence tells a short origin story. It starts with the studio's famous water tower as a simple sketch, which slowly fills with colour and paint before turning into the final logo.
The old logo appears for a short while before melting into the new matte version. The rebrand celebrates the art of traditional animation instead of focusing on CGI. It highlights the creativity and craftsmanship behind hand drawn storytelling.
Along with the new identity, WBPA also announced its upcoming projects. These include The Cat in the Hat, which will release in theatres in November 2026, as well as films based on Tom & Jerry, ThunderCats, Meerkats, Bad Fairies, and an original musical called Prehistoria by creator Vivienne Medrano. The studio also showcased the new Looney Tunesshort film, Daffy Season, during the event.
