Meta is taking another major step toward improving advertiser confidence on Threads by expanding its brand safety and suitability controls across the platform. Advertisers can now access third-party content block lists on Threads Feed through trusted verification partners including DoubleVerify, Integral Ad Science (IAS), Scope3, and Zefr.
The update allows brands to gain better control over the type of content appearing alongside their advertisements. Through these third-party partnerships, advertisers can identify and avoid content categories that may not align with their brand image or messaging strategy.
The feature was already available across Facebook and Instagram Feed and Reels, but its expansion to Threads reflects Meta’s growing focus on building a safer and more transparent advertising ecosystem as the platform continues to scale.
According to Meta, advertisers can either use these content block lists independently or combine them with the platform’s existing inventory filter system for stronger control over ad placements.
The company also highlighted that more than 99% of content shown adjacent to ads across Facebook, Instagram, Reels, and Threads is consistently rated as “brand safe” by independent verification partners.
Alongside this rollout, Meta is further expanding its brand safety ecosystem by adding new partners such as Channel Factory and Protected by Mediaocean, which are expected to offer additional verification and suitability solutions in the coming months.
The move signals Meta’s broader commitment to transparency, advertiser trust, and safer digital advertising experiences across its social platforms. As competition in the social media advertising space intensifies, stronger brand safety tools are becoming increasingly important for marketers looking to protect brand reputation while maximising campaign reach and engagement.
For advertisers, the update represents more than just a safety feature it’s a strategic enhancement that provides greater confidence, flexibility, and control in a rapidly evolving digital advertising landscape.
