Instagram is testing a new optional “AI creator” label that allows users to disclose when their content has been generated or edited using artificial intelligence tools.
The label will appear on creator profiles as well as across posts and Reels, giving viewers clearer context compared to Instagram’s current “AI info” tags, which only indicate that content may have involved AI assistance.
Since the feature is voluntary, many creators may still share AI-generated content without clearly labeling it. The update also highlights Meta’s ongoing struggle to consistently detect AI-created content across its platforms.
Meta says the move is part of a wider push toward greater transparency, encouraging creators who regularly use AI tools to adopt the label. As AI-generated media becomes more common online, the company may eventually need stricter disclosure measures in the future./afaqs/media/media_files/2024/11/21/3Zkqfk7EtQkFZXule6Ir.png)
