What’s the most NSFW thing you’ve done or seen in your career?
I’ve got a literal NSFW story for you. Back in August 2007, during the infamous Mumbai floods, I found myself wading through waist-deep water to collect “proofs” from a printer. At the time, it felt like a do-or-die mission, but looking back, the priorities were utterly ridiculous.
When was the time you thought, “Oh no, I’m getting red today”?
After a two-day photoshoot with a top-tier celebrity and a legendary photographer, we had dozens of perfect shots stored on CDs. Months later, as the campaign approached its launch, I realized the CDs had vanished. Panic set in when the photographer’s assistant casually mentioned their policy of deleting files after two months. I was certain it was my last day. Thankfully, the CDs turned up in some obscure cupboard in the finance team’s office.
What’s the worst stinker email you’ve ever received?
As a rookie account executive, I made a bold (and naive) move. Frustrated with a client dodging payments for six months, I revoked their website backend access without thinking it through. This client was a public company—a minor detail I overlooked. The result? My stinker email came in the form of an official legal notice. Lesson learned!
What’s the best feedback you’ve ever received?
“Look around. There’s an entire team around you. Ask for help when you need it.” Simple, yet profound advice that’s stuck with me.
Have you ever asked a client for a discount on their product or service?
Absolutely. One of the perks of advertising is occasionally scoring freebies. During my early career, I didn’t have to buy soap for years!
What are your top two social media platforms?
Twitter and Reddit. They’re my go-to spaces for insights, discussions, and entertainment.
Do you still read, or have videos taken over?
Yes, I still read. The difference now is that I’m quicker to abandon books that don’t captivate me. Life’s too short for dull reads.
Where do you stream your content: smartphone, computer, or TV?
Rarely on my laptop—it’s just not my first choice for watching anything.
Are you a cord-cutter, or do you still subscribe to cable TV?
I still have cable, but it’s been collecting dust for months. I should probably cancel it, now that I think about it.
Have you ever fallen for advertising and bought something unnecessary or expensive?
All the time! Most recently, I succumbed to buying a BlendJet because social media convinced me I wasn’t truly living without one. Spoiler alert: I probably was.
