Women have only 29% talk time in trailers: Prime Video’s O Womaniya! report
Prime Video has released the O Womaniya! 2024 report, a study focusing on female representation in Indian entertainment. The report, researched by Ormax Media and produced by Film Companion Studios, analyzes 169 films and series across nine languages. Key findings show that women have only 29% of talk time in trailers and hold just 15% of key production roles. The introduction of the Gender Equality Toolkit aims to address biases in content creation, with only 31% of titles passing the test. Prime Video continues to champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the industry, urging stronger, bold strides toward gender equity.
